The film is a remake of the Telugu movie,Himavaadam.
Plot
Balakrishna (Jayam Ravi) is the only son of a wealthy man and his father wants him to get married soon to a rich girl and thereby increase his wealth. He spends all his time with his friends and does not care for his studies. Once when his father brings up the subject of marriage, Balakrishna tells him that he is a gay, whose real name is Santhosh, and he wants to be with him for life. Balakrishna's father and his friends are shocked by the suggestion.
An elderly philanthropist, Vedanayagam (Prakash Raj), falls in love with a girl, Deepa (Anu Mohan) and proposes marriage. Balakrishna and Vedanayagam decide to take the girl to their home in Ooty. Vedanayagam gets Balakrishna and the girl married. Vedanayagam and Balakrishna's father's friends are shocked by the news of the marriage. However, after spending some time with Vedanayagam, Balakrishna falls in love with him. To find out the reason for this change in his attitude, he approaches Vedanayagam and his father. He reveals that he had a fight with his father, got into an accident and that he has become blind.
Balakrishna then goes to a friend's house to get the girl's signature on a divorce paper. During the fight, he stabs the friend and is arrested. On the way to jail, he runs away from the police. He is shocked to see Deepa at the hospital where he was taken for an operation and he is then released on bail. He tries to hide from Vedanayagam, but Vedanayagam's father asks him to return to the girl, and they spend time together. When they return to home, Balakrishna confesses his love for Vedanayagam and that he is not blind. Vedanayagam's father is shocked to hear this and leaves the house. On the day of the wedding, he returns and consoles the couple.
